Silica Cased Immersion Heaters
Efficient & Corrosion-Resistant Heating for Industrial Fluids
Our Silica Cased (Quartz) Immersion Heaters are designed to provide safe, clean, and efficient heating for a wide range of industrial liquids, especially in applications involving corrosive fluids. Engineered for durability, these heaters are ideal for tank heating in processes involving water, oil, acids, waxes, tar, and paraffin.
Applications Silica immersion heaters are extensively used in:
- Electroplating tanks
- Scale-removal baths
- Chemical processing
- Industrial wax melting
- Oil heating systems
- Tar and paraffin liquefaction
Their resistance to corrosion makes them ideal for industries handling aggressive and acidic solutions, except hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids.
Design Features:
Vertical Mounting: Designed for vertical installation in tanks.
Replaceable Element Interiors: Easy maintenance and quick replacements.
Flexible Lead Options: Supplied with moulded rubber boots and lead wires in PVC, Teflon, or fiberglass.
Length Options: Available from 12” to 36” as standard. Extended sizes up to 48” are available on request.
Safe Electrical Insulation: The combination of outer silica and inner porcelain ensures high dielectric strength and operational safety.
Technical Specifications
Suitable for single-phase or three-phase electrical supplies.
Operates efficiently in harsh environments without contaminating the solution.
Why Choose Our Quartz Immersion Heaters?
Excellent Acid Resistance: Immune to most acids except hydrofluoric and phosphoric.
Absolute Electrical Safety: High-grade insulation minimizes risks; use with an earth leakage circuit breaker is recommended.
Chemical Inertness: Prevents contamination of the heated medium.
Compact Design: Saves tank space and simplifies cleaning.
Service Friendly: Two-piece moulded cap allows for quick element replacement.
Durable Connections: Moulded caps are tightly bonded to cables to prevent bending damage; PVC caps available for rubber-sensitive fluids.
Installation Instructions
⚠️ Handling Precautions:
Quartz is a brittle material; handle with care to avoid mechanical shocks during installation.
📌 Recommended Installation:
A – Use wood or suitable mounting base
B – Insert through a resilient sleeve
C – Position securely with a support block
📋 Important Guidelines:
- Maintain a minimum of 4″ between the liquid surface and the bottom of the rubber cap (6″ if liquid temperature exceeds 50°C).
- Do not submerge the rubber cap in any liquid.
- Maintain the minimum immersion depth to protect the cold zone.
- Do not support the heater using the cap or cable alone.
- Avoid deposit buildup on the heater sheath, which can reduce efficiency and cause breakage.
- For best results, insulate and cover the tank to conserve heat.
⚠️ Note: Standard fittings are not included and must be arranged separately.
